Be Courageous

Life has a way to let you be challenged by taking bold and courageous steps or to be silent in the recesses of your mind. Both hide behind the wall of fear and uncertainty. Both require a decision.

The two diverge at the decision point.

The mind bangs the deafening gong of doubt, clanging relentlessly “don’t do it, you don’t know what will happen” and “don’t take this risk”, and “stay where you are”.

Faith says “take heart, it is I, do not be afraid” (Matt 14:27-31) and “for God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather a spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline. (2 Timothy 1:7) and “If God is with us, who can be against us”. (Romans 8:31).

To stay where I am today may not be where I want to be tomorrow. To see what is around the corner may reveal just what I have been looking for all along. I would rather look for myself then risk not knowing how wonderful the unknown might be.

So my friends, know that God has given us a great future. Better to try and fail at a bold and courageous step than to not try and succeed.
